There are a lot of promises in the world, aren’t there? There are promises of love, promises of good weather in the UK (you get used to this, and the UK is Barbados compared to Scotland…) and promises from companies: usually things like, “at our website you can learn everything you need to know–”

But come on. How many times do these promises actually translate into meaningful, proper action? In my experience rarely; even worse, sometimes it’s just a good excuse to try and sell you something you don’t need but suddenly feel like you should.
